Hapkido
Over the past decade, we have proudly introduced and nurtured a thriving hapkido program to compliment students who have shown commitment to our renowned Taekwondo.
What is Hapkido?
Hapkido is a Korean martial art that is known for its dynamic blend of joint locks and throws. Originating in the mid-20th century, hapkido draws from ancient Korean and Japanese martial arts to create a versatile self-defense system.
Its philosophy emphasizes harmony and circular motion, enabling practitioners to redirect a strike's energy rather than relying on brute force.
Hapkido vs Judo vs Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?
Hapkido can be compared to judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, but the difference is in its holistic approach and cultural foundation. While judo focuses on throws and grappling, and Bjj emphasizes ground fighting, hapkido incorporates a comprehensive range of techniques including throws and strikes.
